HomeSiders win 2 more

Kyle Kendrick threw 5 shut out innings, using just 69 pitches, allowing only 2 hits and a walk, as the Phillies topped the Braves, 3-0. Mike Stutes and Antonio Bastardo each recorded a hold, with a scoreless frame apiece, and Ryan Howard belted his 7th home run of the season (RBI #30) as Philadelphia evened their series with Atlanta at a game each. Kendrick improved to 2-2, 1.50 for the season.

Late last night is Seattle, Gavin Floyd threw 8 shut out innings against the Mariners, allowing only 3 hits and 2 walks, striking out 6, in the White Sox 6-0 win. Floyd is now 4-2, 3.67 for the Sox and the two HomeSider wins run the 2011 major league total to 19.

In Anaheim, the red hot Indians(22-10) won again, edging the Angels 4-3. Lou Marson was 1 for 4 and stole a base for the Tribe.

The Scranton Yankees have placed Greg Golson on the DL. Golson is hitting .250 in 24 games this season.............In Durham, R. J. Swindel gave up 2 runs on 3 hits in just .2 innings Saturday night, but was in the right place at the right time, as the Bulls scored 4 in the bottom of the 11th giving Swindel the victory! R.J. is struggling this year to the tune of an 8.49 ERA. Yikes!!........... In Rochester, Yohan Flande made the start for Gwinnett, and threw 5 good innings, giving up just 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 2 and received no decision as the Braves beat the Red Wings, 6-3. It was Flande's first start of the year after making 8 relief appearances for the Atlanta affiliate.............In Chattanooga, Will Savage threw 6 strong innings for the Lookouts, giving up just 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out 6. Will left the game with a 4-2 lead, which the bullpen lost later, before Chattanooga scored a 5-4 win with a run in the 7th. Savage is still 3-0 for the Lookouts, with an impressive 2.89 ERA in his 5 starts so far..........In Lancaster, Jonathan Villar had a walk in 3 at bats and stole 2 more bases for the JetHawks in their 6-3 win over Inland Empire. Villar is 17 for 20 stealing this year for Lancaster............In Manchester, Anthony Gose had a triple, a walk, scored an run and threw out a runner at home, but the Fisher Cats lost to Binghamton, 8-1.
