Yohan Flande started and took the loss in game 2, going just 4+ innings and giving up 3 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks. It could have been worse, but Scott Mathieson came in with 2 on and no outs and retired the side without allowing a run in the 5th. Then, Mathieson gave up 3 in the 6th. Carlos Monasterios threw 2 clean innings to finish it for Reading.
Ozzie Chavez (2 doubles), Mike Taylor and Neil Sellers all had 2 hits for the R-Phils.

In Asheville, Ryan Lavarnway and Will Middlebrooks hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the 9th inning to give the Greenville Drive a 3-2 come-from-behind win in game 1 of their SAL South Division Series. That series moves to Greenville for games 2 & 3 beginning tonight.
Speaking of tonight, Game 2 between Lakewood and Kannapolis is scheduled for 7:00 tonight, but the weather is not promising. We will need at least a 3 hour window, to get the field ready and play this one. If it stops, we will play.
