Manatees top Threshers in 11

They just love those extra innings in Clearwater. The Threshers fought back from a 4-0 deficit to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th, only to fall 6-4 in the 11th. Jon Velasquez started and gave up 4 runs on 9 hits and 2 walks in just 5.2 innings, but Clearwater would not go away. Home runs by Matt Rizzotti (his 13th) in the 4th and Jesus Villegas (# 4) in the 5th cut the lead in half. A Yonderman Rodriguez single made it 4-3 in the 8th (his third hit of the night) and Gus Milner hit a sac fly to score Villegas in the 9th to tie it. Meanwhile, Esmelvin Jimenez shut down Brevard County, pitching 3.1 innings and allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk. Walter Tejeda threw a scoreless 10th, but was touched for the winning runs in the 11th. Javis Diaz stole base #33 on the year for Clearwater.
