Maloney gets 1st big league win

Matt Maloney, one of the heroes of the 2006 SAL Champion BlueClaws, won his first major league decision Thursday night in Cincinnati in the Reds' 3-2 win over the Marlins. Matt gave up 2 runs on 7 hits and just 1 walk over 5 innings. The Reds bullpen got the final 12 outs, without allowing a run and Maloney got his elusive first win.

In Philadelphia, Cole Hamels won his 10th game of the year, with 8 solid inning against Washington. Cole allowed just 1 run on 5 hits and 1 walk, striking out 10. Just for good measure, he also had an RBI single in the Phillies' 4-2 win.
