Around the country........

In Chattanooga, Darren Byrd threw 3 scoreless innings of relief for Huntsville in the Star's 4-2 win over the Lookouts. Darren is now 2-0, and has now given up a run in 9.2 innings of work..........In Manchester, Anthony Gose had a double, 2 walks, scored 2 runs and stole a base (#3) for New Hampshire as the Fisher Cats topped Binghamton, 5-4 in 10 innings. Travis d'Arnaud was 0 for 4 for New Hampshire...........In Norfolk, Yohan Flande came into the game in the 6th inning with the bases loaded and 2 outs and got Blake Davis to ground out to end the inning. His glory was short lived, however, as he was charged with 3 runs on 3 hits in the next frame............In Toledo, Tigers prospect Charlie Furbush threw a 7-inning 1-hitter against Indianapolis. The only hit was by Jason Jaramillo, a third inning single...................In Durham, R.J. Swindel pitched just .2 innings for the Bulls, allowing 2 walks and a hit, and all 3 runs scored as Charlotte beat Durham, 6-4.............In Allentown, Greg Golson was 1 for 4, a triple and scored a run for Scranton as the Yankees beat the IronPigs, 3-0. Drew Carpenter did throw 2 shut out innings for Lehigh Valley, allowing just 1 hit, striking out 3.............In Lancaster, California, Jonathan Villar was 0 for 4, but drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, but Lancaster lost to Stockton, 13-10...........Sergio Escalona entered a game for Oklahoma City last night in the 7th with the bases loaded and 2 outs and struck out Brad Nelson to strand the 3 runners, and then retired the side with 1 hit and 2 more Ks in the 8th. The RedHawks lost to Round Rock, 6-3......In Reno, Adrian Cardenas (.412) had 3 hits, drove in a run and scored 2 more for Sacramento, as the River Cats edged the Aces, 11-10.
