Claws get first walk-off of year

Aaron Altherr was the catalyst for Lakewood's 4-3 win over Charleston Monday night, scoring 2 runs, stealing 3 bases and and driving in the game winner on an infield single with 2 down in the 9th. Geancarlo Mendez (.387) had another 2 hits and continues to force his way into the Lakewood lineup. Mario Hollands went 6 strong innings, before tiring a bit and allowing a game tying 3-run home run to Charleston's Kelvin Castro in the 7th. Chase Johnson threw the final 2 frames, picking up his first win of the year. Johnson has pitched 11 innings and has not allowed an earned run yet. The win improves Lakewood to 7-10 on the year, and Lakewood will send David Buchanan to the hill Tuesday night.

Both Clearwater and Reading were postponed due to weather.
