Wednesday night in Norfolk, Matt Maloney threw 110 pitches in his 7 innings of work, allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits, NO walks, in Louisville's 8-4 victory over the Tides. Maloney improved to 3-2 on the year, and lowered his ERA to 6.29. Neither Chris Roberson ( 0 for 2, 2 walks, .237) or Mike Costanzo ( o for 4, .225) could reach base for Norfolk against Maloney.
In Toledo, the IronPigs got off to a 4-0 lead over the Mudhens, but lost 7-6 in 10 innings. R.J. Swindel made his AAA debut, coming in with the bases loaded and 1 out in the 6th. He immediately game up a bases clearing triple to Brent Clevlin, before getting the last 2 outs of the inning. Brandon Watson (.291) and Mike Cervenak (.281) had 3 hits each for Lehigh Valley.
