Thursday's HomeSiders

The Yankees beat the Phillies 10-2 on Thursday. Carlos Carrasco was the starter for the Phillies, and got 5 innings of work in. Carlos was charged with 4 runs on 6 hits and a walk, including home runs by Hideki Matsui and Cody Ransom. He struck out 4 and looked better than the last few outings. The Phillies scored on home runs by Chase Utley and Ryan Howard (his 7th) off Joba Chamberlain in the first inning.

On the minor league side, the Phillies went 1-2-1 against the Yankee farm teams. My surprise of the spring, Arlon Quiroz, homered again in the low A game. I believe that is 5 so far. Matt Rizzotti went 2 for 2, including a home run and 3 RBI in the 5-5 tie in the high A game. D'Arby Myers continues to hit, smacking a double as does Tim Kennelly, who tripled in the 4-3 win in the AA game.
