USA wins a thriller

Team USA scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning Tuesday night, to overcome Puerto Rico 6-5 and gain a spot in the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic. Mets third baseman David Wright got the game winning hit as the Americans eliminated the Puerto Ricans, joining Venezuela in the semifinal round. The two teams will meet tonight at 7:00 to determine the winner of the pool, and help decide who will play who in Los Angeles next weekend.

Korea topped Japan 4-1, to also qualify for the semis. Japan will play Cuba tonight at 11:00 for the 4th and final berth in LA.
