Claws come from 5 down to first place

The Lakewood BlueClaws rallied from a 7-2 deficit, to score 4 in the 8th, 1 in the 9th to tie, and 1 in the 10th to take an 8-7 win from Kannapolis to grab a piece of first place. Harold Garcia (.310, 2 doubles, run scored, 2 RBI), Travis D'Arnaud (.228, 3 singles, run, RBI) and Zack Collier (.265, double, triples, 3 runs scored) all had 3 hits, and Moose Mattair knocked in D'Arnaud with the winning run as Lakewood pounded out 15 hits to win a thrilling game that took place mainly in the pouring rain. The BlueClaws are now 14-10, and tied with Greensboro for 1st place.

You cannot say enough about this team fighting back in this one. On a night when everybody just wanted to go home, they stood in there and battled back to get the victory in the first game of an 8 game home stand. Hopefully, the momentum from this win will carry throughout the week. The 2 teams have a short turn around to the 11:00 AM start Wednesday.
