Pig's pen implodes again

After a thrilling 5-run bottom of the 8th inning which saw Lehigh Valley take an 11-7 lead into the 9th inning, the Toledo Mud Hens scored 4 in the 9th off Gary Majewski, and followed that up with 3 in the 10th off of Mike Koplove to take an improbable 14-11 win over the IronPigs.

Drew Carpenter started and went 5, giving up 4 runs on6 hits and 2 walks, and left the game trailing 4-2. Mike Cervanak (.326) was 4 for 5 with a walk and 3 RBI, Jason Donald had a hit, a walk, stole 2 bases, scored twice and drove in a run, and Jeremy Slayden also contributed a hit as the IronPigs fell to 10-12 on the year.

In Palm Beach, Brett Harker threw 2 hitless innings in relief for Jupiter, striking out 2 and walking 1, and picked up his 2nd win this week when the Hammerheads scored 2 in the top of the 9th to take a 4-3 win over the Cardinals. Brett is now 2-0, 1.98 on the season.

Late Saturday night in Reno, the Aces pounded the Portland Beavers, 16-8. Kevin Howard (.221, single , run scored for Portland) and Chris Roberson (.226, walk, run scored, RBI in only at bat for Reno) played on opposite teams in that one.
