Jim Murphy hit a 2-run home run with 2 outs in the 9th to give Lakewood a come from behind 3-2 win in Kannapolis Friday. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Murphy, but lets not overshadow the job done by Heitor Correa, who threw 7 strong innings, yielding just 1 run on 4 hits, NO walks, striking out 3. The win goes to Brian Rosenberg, his 3rd, who finished the game for Lakewood. The BlueClaws did not get a hit against Kannapolis starter, 22-year old Charles Leesman, until Travis D'Arnaud got a single with 2 down in the 7th.
