The Phillies have reassigned Jesus Villegas from Lakewood to Clearwater, replacing him with outfielder Korby Mintken, who was in the line up Thursday against Kannapolis. Villegas will replace Freddy Galvis on the Clearwater roster, who has been put on the DL with what I believe is a broken finger.
The 'Claws defeated the Intimidators, 2-0 Thursday night, behind great pitching from Tyler Cloyd. Cloyd improved to 2-2, 3.08 by throwing 8 shut out innings, allowing just 6 hits and NO walks, striking out 8. Ryan Bergh threw a scoreless 9th to record his 4th save. Jim Murphy (.347) and Harold Garcia (.307) drove in the runs for Lakewood, who won despite getting just 5 hits. At 15-11, the BlueClaws are again tied for first place with Delmarva.
