Happ wins again

J.A. Happ improved to 3-0 on the year Friday night with 5.1 innings of work against the Nationals. Jay gave up 3 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks in the Phillies' 5-4 victory. Carlos Ruiz had a single, a double, and a walk, picking up RBI #10, bumping his average up to .299. In Arlington, Josh Outman started the first game of the twin bill between the Athletics and the first place Rangers. Josh gave up 2 in the 1st inning, then settled down. In all Outman went 6.2 frames, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks (sound familiar?), picking up 9 Ks in the process. He received no decision in a game eventually won by the Rangers, 6-3. In Pittsburgh, Michael Bourn had 2 hits and an RBI in the Astros' 6-1 win over the Pirates. Jason Jaramillo knocked in the Pirate's only tally in the bottom of the 9th as Pittsburgh avoided the shut out.
