Kendrick, Carrasco fall

Kyle Kendrick got the assignment Monday afternoon in the series finale in Toledo and the Mud Hens took it to him. Kyle lasted just 5 innings, giving up 7 runs, 6 earned, on 9 hits and a walk, striking out 4, to fall to 2-2, 3.75 on the year. Kyle gave up 2 home runs, including a 3-run shot to Jeff Frazier, from Point Pleasant. Lou Marson had a single in 4 at bats, 1 of 7 hits for the IronPigs, who lost 9-2.

On Tuesday, the team started a series in Columbus, and Carlos Carrasco fared no better. Carlos, who is in a real funk right now, only made it through 4 innings, and was bombed for 7 runs, all earned on 11 hits and 2 walks, to fall to 0-4, and his ERA ballooned to 6.62. Somebody really needs to help Carrasco make his adjustments to this level or his confidence will go right down the chute! Marson had a walk, a double, scored a run and drove one in, and Jason Donald also had a hit and an RBI. Jeremy Slayden did not play either game.

Wednesday's game in Columbus was rained out.
