here and there

In Pittsburgh Saturday, the Pirates defeated the Astros 7-4. Michael Bourn (.288) had a double and a walk for Houston. In Sacramento, Bourn's Lakewood teammate, Randy Ruiz (.301) had 2 hits, including a double and drove in his 40th run of the year for Las Vegas in the 51s' 4-3 loss to the River Cats. Chris Roberson (.268) had 2 hits and scored a run in both games of a doubleheader for Reno last night, as the Aces split 2 decisions with in Salt Lake City.

My apologies to Brett Harker, whose promotion I overlooked. Harker was promoted from Jupiter to AA-Jacksonville by the Marlins 2 weeks ago. He has made 3 appearances so far for the Suns, logging 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits so far. Congratulations to Brett and good luck! Harker is now once again a teammate of Ron "Bear" Hill, who has made 9 appearances so far for Jacksonville. Both Bear and Brett were selected by the Marlins last December in the rule 5 draft.
