Claws late night walk-off
After an hour and 15 minute rain delay before the start of the game, the Lakewood BlueClaws rallied to defeat Hagerstown, 3-2 Friday night. Winning once again on the strength of their pitching, no BlueClaw player had more than 1 hit. It was a strong effort for Trevor May, after a shaky start. Trevor surrendered his only run right off the bat, as the first 4 Hagerstown hitters reached base. But with a run in and the bases loaded with no one out, May slammed the door, keeping Lakewood in the game. In all, Trevor went 5 innings, allowing just the 1 run on 5 hits, striking out 6, receiving no decision. Freddy Ballestas got the next 4 outs, before giving way to Jacob Diekman. Diekman also got 4 outs, and was charged with the first earned run in his second half, before Santo Hernandez came on to close the door on the Suns. Santo improved to 5-2, 1.93 on the season. Korby Mintkin has a single, 2 walks, and drove in a run to lead the Lakewood offense.
