5 Tampa pitchers held the Threshers to 7 hits, in the Yankees 2-1 10-inning win in Clearwater Saturday night. Drew Naylor was strong for 6 innings, allowing just 1 run on 6 hits and 2 walks, leaving the game in a 1-1 tie. Walter Tejeda came on and threw a clean 7th and 8th, recording the first out in the 9th before yielding to Carlos Monasterios. "Monte" (4-6, 3.42) gave up the game winner, a 10th inning, lead off home run by DH Brandon Laird in the top of the 10th. Carlos' up and down season continues as he makes the adjustment to coming out of the pen.
Freddy Galvis (.253) had the only 2-hit game for the Threshers, and is hitting .378 (14 for 37) in the last 9 games. Javis Diaz (.264) had a single and a walk for Clearwater, scoring the only run, and stole his 27th base of the year.
