Ryno homers gives Phils 4th win in a row

Ryan Howard homered for the second consecutive game, this time in the 9th inning of a 2-2 game to give the Phillies a 3-2 win over the Braves. Ryan now has 28 homes and 86 RBI for the year as the Phillies are getting hot at the right time in their quest to defend the World Series championship.

In Wrigley Field, the Cubs bounced back from the sweep at the hands of the Phillies by pounding the Pirates, 17-2! Jason Jaramillo, not playing much since Ryan Doumit has returned, had a double and an RBI for Pittsburgh. "JJ" is hitting .251, with 3 home runs and 20 RBI in his rookie year so far. In St Pete, Randy Ruiz had a single and scored a run in Toronto's 5-2 win over the Rays, and is 4 for 13 (.308) in 3 games with the Jays. In Milwaukee, Michael Bourn had 2 hits and scored a run in a losing effort, as the Brewers scored 8 in the 1st on their way to an 11-2 victory. Bourn is hitting .291, with a National League leading 44 stolen bases.
