Milner, Spidale lead R-Phils to another win

The Reading Phillies made it 8 out of 10 Saturday night with a 9-5 pounding of New Hampshire. Mike Spidale (.302) had 2 hits, including his 3rd home run (2nd in 2 days) and Gus Milner had a single, a double, a walk, stole a base, scored a run and drove in 4! Quintin Berry chipped in with a single, a walk, a run scored and his 15th steal.

Joe Savery recorded his 5th win, with 5 innings in the books. Savery struggled with his control, walking 5 and giving up 4 runs on 5 hits. Joe Bisenius, off of the DL, looked good, pitching 3 innings, allowing just 1 hit (a home run by Brian Dopriak), and Francisco Butto threw a scoreless 9th, despite walking 3. Reading will go for the series sweep today with Vance Worley (4-2) on the mound.

In Port St. Lucie, the Threshers wasted another great performance by Yohan Flande, falling to the Mets 4-3. Flande (2.95) put in 7 innings, allowing just 1 unearned run on 4 hits and a walk, striking out 6, and left the game with a 3-1 lead. Darren Byrd (.2 IP 1 run) and Mike Schwimer (.2 IP, 2 runs) let it get away in the end. Arlon Quiroz (.278) had his second straight 3 hit game, and Tim Kennelly had a single and a double and drove in his 29th run. With all the rain outs in Florida the last week or so, I am not sure who will go today for Clearwater.
