In Philadelphia, the Phillies lost to the Braves for the 7th time in a row this season, 6-1. It was the 60th loss of the year for the Phillies, matching last year's total. It was not a good night for Vance Worley, who struggled to get the ball where he wanted it , and allowed 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks in just 3.2 innings. BJ Roseneberg got 4 outs (1 hit, 1 K), but Ryan Howard was 0 for 4 and Domonic Brown (.286 and rising) was 1 for 3 and was hit by a pitch (he's OK). Michael Bourn (.286) had a hit and a walk, scored a run, and drove in another for Atlanta. Cole Hamels will try to end Atlanta's domination tonight.
In Pittsburgh, Mike Zagurski continued to struggle to get outs. Mike entered the game with 2 runners on base in the bottom of the 8th inning, and promptly allowed 2 hits and a sacrifice fly, which led to the Pirates icing a 4-0 win over the Diamondbacks........In Detroit, Justin Verlander was in top form against the Yankees, and the Tigers got themselves a 7-2 win over New York. Quintin Berry came on late for defense for the second day in a row, and was 0 for 1 in his only at bat.
