I am running out the door to work this morning, but here are some major league notes from Sunday:
In Philadelphia, Ryan Howard got the walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th to give the Phillies a 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks. Howard had struck out in his first 3 at bats, but erased all that with the clutch hit at the end! Domonic Brown (.278) had a single and a double, and scored a run for the Phils.
In Detroit, Lou Marson (.256) had a single, a double and an RBI for the Indians, who blew a 3-run lead in the 10th and lost to the Tigers.......In Oakland, Anthony Gose had a single and a double, and a sacrifice bunt, knocked in a run and scored 2 more for the Blue Jays in their 6-5 win over the A's. Speaking of the A's, the need for more pitching had them send Michael Taylor back to Sacramento in favor of another arm in their bullpen........In Atlanta, Michael Bourn (.286) had a hit and an RBI for the Braves, as they beat Houston, 5-1. Houston has lost 30 of their last 34. Yikes!
