Bolt puts a charge in Lakewood's lineup

The BlueClaws gained split of their series with West Virginia by beating the Power 10-5 on Monday night. Karl Bolt led the Lakewood attack with 2 doubles, a triple, 3 runs scored and an RBI. Karl in 7 for 11 the last 3 days and never used a pink bat!! Seriously, he is red hot and just another example of how this Lakewood batting order has dangerous hitters all over it. Michael Taylor (.351, 2nd in S.A.L.) had 2 more line drive hits, and his team leading 30th RBI, and Mike Durant belted a 2 run homer, his 10th. He is 1 behind Michael Burgess of Hagerstown, who has 11. Freddy Galvis also had 2 hits for Lakewood.

Jacob Diekman had another tough day. After allowing 5 runs in the top of the second, he left in the 3rd with 1 out and the bases loaded. Enter the star of the game, Ben Pfinsgraff. Ben came into the game, stifled the rally, and then pitched 4 more shut out innings, giving up just 1 hit, and striking out 4. The effort gives Pfinsgraff his first win of 2008. Alex Concepcion came out in the 8th inning, only to be nailed in the left knee by the second hitter he faced, and carried off. He could put NO weight on the left leg at all. Joe Rocchio got the last 5 outs for Lakewood.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers are next for Lakewood. We need to beat this team, having lost 13 of the last 14 games against them. Do I smell revenge in the air???
