Golson, Slayden lead R-Phils

The Reading Phillies beat Altoona 3-0 Friday night behind great pitching from Kip Bouknight. Bouknight threw 7 scoreless frames, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks, to record his third win of the year. Greg Golson smacked his 3rd home run of the year in the 4th inning and it looked like it would be all for the Phillies, until Jeremy Slayden broke Altoona's back with a 2-RBI hit in the bottom of the 8th. "Slay"(.291) leads all former 'Claws with 24 RBI so far, and Golson (.299) stole his 12th base in 15 attempts. Pat Overholt recorded his 8th save, pitching 2 perfect innings to finish it. Overholt (0.96 ERA) has allowed just 2 runs on 6 hits in 18.2 innings of work. In my opinion, the 24-year old Overholt should be making the jump to Lehigh Valley before long.
