Moran gets 8 straight hits

After 4 hits in Saturday's loss to Altoona, Javon Moran came back Sunday and had 4 more hits in a row before being retired in his final at bat. Javon scored a run, stole his 9th base and led the 15-hit attack as Reading pounded the Curve 10-3. Andrew Carpenter pitched 7 innings, scattering 9 hits (NO walks), and giving up 3 runs to improve to 2-4, 5.19 for the year. Greg Golson (.313) had 3 hits, including his 4th home run and scored 3 times. Jeremy Slayden (.296) also had 3 hits, and 4 RBI. Jeremy has 28 RBI now, 21 in the last 17 games. Brad Harman, in his second game back from the big club, also homered.

Josh Outman and Joe Bisenius each pitched a scoreless frame. Outman has adapted very well since his move to the bullpen, having now pitched 4 innings without allowing a run. "Bis" has made 5 appearances in the last 11 days with Reading, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits and 5 walks in 6 innings of work.
