Lakewood pitcher Julian Sampson, who was struck by a ball Sunday in the ribs, is bruised but not broken and is hoping to make his next start on Friday.
Alexander Concepcion, in his first appearance this season after an arm injury, retired 1 hitter before being struck in the left knee Monday night. I cannot ever remember seeing 2 pitchers so badly hurt on consecutive nights. I have not heard anything on Alex, yet.
