'Claws top Legends, 11-7

Aided by 7 Lexington errors, 4 by shortstop Ronald Ramirez, the Lakewood BlueClaws rode the momentum of a 6-run 2nd inning to an 11-7 victory over the Legends. Dennis Winn (3 singles, 2 RBI) and Travis Mattair (3 singles, RBI) led the 13 hit onslaught as the BlueClaws scored 11 runs for the 2nd consecutive game. Mike Durant had 2 walks and his 7th home run (second in the league), and Michael Taylor had 2 hits including a huge 3-run blast to close out the scoring in the bottom of the 8th inning. Walter Tejeda started and gave the team 4 innings, the longest outing of the year for the left hander, and Chris Kissock got the win despite giving up 3 runs on 5 hits in 2 innings of work. Sergio Escolona made his first appearance for Lakewood this year, picking up a "hold", and Jared Simon got the last 5 outs to record his 3rd save.

The BlueClaws are 4-3 on the current home stand which wraps up tonight with one more against the Legends at 6:30, Julian Sampson (1-1, 7.18) will get the start.
