Threshers belt 4 homers, Garcia wins again

The Clearwater Threshers pounded out 17 hits on Thursday night, including home runs by Jake Blalock and Welinson Baez back to back in the 1st inning, and long balls later by Tuffy Gosewisch and Clay Harris to back another strong performance by Edgar Garcia, and beat Jupiter, 12-3. Garcia went 6 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks, and improved to 5-0, 3.43 for the year. Blalock had 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI, and Quintin Berry, P.J. Antoniato (.300), Harris, Gosewisch and Fidel Hernandez all had 2 hits. Matt German, Ron Hill, and Darren Byrd pitched the final 3 frames for Clearwater.
