Jesus-hot,hot,hot

Like the weather in Arizona, Jesus Merchan is HOT. He had 2 more hits last night for the Sidewinders, and is 7 for his last 13 (4 games) and 17 for 39 (.436) with hits in his last 10 games. With the parent team, the Diamondbacks, in first place out west, there could be another HomeSider playing meaningful major league games this year!!

Also last night, Randy Ruiz hit his 2nd home run of the year and drove in 2 of Rochester's 3 runs in their 3-2 victory over Buffalo. "Homie" is hitting .252, with 19 RBI this year. I noticed that Minnesota placed 2 players on the DL yesterday, but Randy was not one of the 2 Red Wings called up. Keep plugging, Homie, we are rooting for you!!

In Pawtucket Saturday night, the PawSox took 2 from the Norfolk Tides, 4-2 and 4-2. Mike Costanzo had a single and a double and his 12th RBI in the first game, and is hitting .248 for the Baltimore affiliate.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs won a game 2-1 last night, getting only 2 hits, but making the most of them, to record their second consecutive win. Break up the Pigs!!
