Early and often

The BlueClaws were all over the Lexington Legends on Sunday, striking for 5 runs in the first inning and never looking back, en route to an 11-2 blowout. Drew Naylor was incredible, going 8 strong innings, allowing just 1 run on 5 hits, with 11 strike outs!! Naylor picked up his 2nd win, striking out the side on 2 separate occasions, and looked just great changing speeds. Derrick Mitchell continues to come on strong after a slow start, picking up 3 more hits, including a double and an RBI, and scored 2 runs. Dominic Brown hit his 2nd home run in the first inning, and had an RBI-single later. Mike Durant had a single, a double, a walk, and 2 RBI (that's a team best 17), and Travis Mattair, Joel Naughton, and Herman Demmink (3 runs scored, .308) all had 2 hits for Lakewood. Michael Taylor, Matt Rizzotti, and Freddy Galvis all had RBI sac flys in addition to a hit. Contributions from all around!!

Lakewood faces Lexington again tonight, Walter Tejeda makes his first start for the 'Claws.

In Harrisburg, the 1-2 combo of Javon Moran and Jason Donald was 5 for 8 with 3 doubles, a walk, 4 stolen bases, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Believe it or not, the Senators won the game 5-4. The rest of Reading's line up produced just 2 hits, and Kip Bouknight (2-3, 4.64) was the loser. Joe Bisenius pitched a scoreless 6th in his second inning since being activated, and R.J. Swindel put up 2 more scoreless innings for Reading. In 11 appearances, Swindel has pitched 16.2 innings, giving up just 1 run on 8 hits, 1 walk, 16 strike outs, and an ERA of 0.54.

Reading returns home tonight, with Carrasco, to face Binghamton, Phil and Lynn Hoffman will represent the HomeSide.
