In Appleton, Wisconsin, Scott Mitchinson continues to impress with the Kane County Cougars. Scott threw 7 shut out innings at the Timber Rattlers en route to a 4-0 victory, giving up just 4 hits, NO walks, and 9 strike outs. Mitchinson is now 4-1, 1.91 for the Athletics's affiliate. He has worked 42.1 innings in his 7 starts, walking only 7, while striking out 44.
Down in Louisville, it was Matt Maloney throwing the zeroes. Six of them, before tiring in the 7th and yielding 2 runs, in Louisville's 5-2 win over Indianapolis. In all 6.1, 2 runs on 5 hits and 1 walk, to up his record to 5-2, 4.91. He has won his last 3 starts, throwing 20.1 innings, and giving up just 4 runs on 14 hits, basically finding his grove at AAA.
