Major Leaguers

In Washington Wednesday night, Ryan Howard may have turned the corner on the 2008 season. Ryno belted 2 home runs (12) and a double, driving in 4 runs (29) to lead the Phightin' Phils to a 12-2 win over the Nats. Howard has raised his average from a low of .163 on May 7 to .195. If history is any guide, the rest of the NL better look out, the charge has begun!!

In Houston, Michael Bourn had 3 hits, including a triple to spark the Astros to a 5-3 victory over the Cubs. Bourn also scored a run and stole his league leading 20th base (Ichiro leads the majors with 21) in 23 attempts.

In Denver, Taylor Buchholz pitched another 1-2-3 inning for Colorado against San Francisco, and recorded his 10th "hold" of the year. Taylor is 1-2, with 1 save in 1 opportunity, the 10 holds and a 1.42 ERA.
