Naylor great again

I cannot say enough about Drew Naylor. After an 8 inning, 11 strike out performance last Sunday against Lexington, Drew topped it yesterday!! A complete game, 2 hitter against Kannapolis, with 12 strike outs to lead Lakewood to a 6-1 victory over the Intimidators. Naylor (pictured) is now 3-2, 2.04 for the year, and leads all of minor league baseball with 62 strike outs (Antonio Bastardo is second with 58) and 53 innings pitched. He has not given up more than 3 earned runs in any of his 8 starts this year.
The BlueClaws got big days from the big 3. Dominic Brown (.295) was 3 for 4 with a double and walk and scored 2 runs, Michael Taylor (.339) was 3 for 5, including a triple, his 4th home run, and 3 RBI (team leading 21), and Michael Durant (.276) belted his 8th home run, a no-doubter in the 8th inning. Dennis Winn chipped in with 2 more hits, upped his average to .321, and is as productive a utility player as the BlueClaws have ever had. The win pushed the 'Claws over .500 for the first time this year at 18-17, and with 35 games remaining in the first half, Lakewood is 4 games behind Lake County. Walter Tejeda will start Sunday in the series finale slated for 5:00.
