Hammerheads top Threshers, 5-3

The battle of the sharks continued in Clearwater last night and Jupiter got the best of Clearwater, 5-3. Zack Segovia made his first start for the Threshers, and pitched 5 scoreless innings before running into trouble in the 6th. Zack gave up 3 runs on 7 hits, NO walks, and struck out 4, to suffer the loss. Quintin Berry, who is 7 for 16 his last 4 games and starting to show why he was the catalyst last season here in Lakewood, had 2 hits, including a 2-run home run and also stole his 11th base in 14 attempts. Q has his average up to .267 and climbing. John Urick also had 2 hits and walk for Clearwater. Brett Harker pitched the final 3 innings for the Threshers, lowering his ERA to 1.59 for the year. Andrew Cruse (1-5) will pitch Saturday.
