Bourn sparks 'Stros

Michael Bourn had 3 singles and a walk and scored 3 runs as the Astros ended the Cubs 5-game winning streak with an 11-6 win at Wrigley Field Tuesday night. Mike is hitting .288 with a league leading 37 steals.

In the meantime, since the Pirates have activated Ryan Doumit off the DL, Jason Jaramillo has not seen the light of day. JJ has not played since July 7, after playing 45 games in the first half for the Pirates. Jason is hitting . 255 with 11 doubles, 3 home runs and 19 RBI in his rookie season.

R.J. Swindle got into Milwaukee's game Monday night, allowing a run over 2 innings of work. RJ has been spectacular in AAA, posting a 1.03 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP for the Nashville Sounds. He has struggled a little in the National League, this is his 3rd call-up this year.

In Phoenix Tuesday, Cole Hamels continues his return to form, throwing 8 great innings at the Diamondbacks. Cole gave up just 1 run on 4 hits, NO walks, striking out 9 in the process. And the way Brad Lidge gave the entire dugout frayed nerves, allowing a 2 runs, maybe manager Charlie Manuel lets Cole finish his own games from now on!! Lidge gave up 2 runs, and Philadelphia won, 4-3. For Lidge, it was save #20, but his ERA is still 7.11 for the year.

Hamels improves to 7-5 on the year.
