hot hitting Garcia leads Lakewood to win

Harold Garcia es en fuego!! The hard hitting second baseman pounded out 4 more hits yesterday to lead the BlueClaws to an 8-2 thrashing of Lexington. In his current 9-game hitting streak, Garcia is 19 for 41, that's .463, and every ball is hit hard. Even the one he broke his bat on Saturday was hit hard!!! He is IN THE ZONE....he also stole his 30th base, which is good for 4th in the league.

Travis d'Arnaud is on a 10-game hitting streak, where he is 17 for 45 (.378), and is hitting .336 since June 13th. Jeremy Hamilton is also hot, going 7 for 13 with 5 runs scored and 7 RBI in the last 4 games.

How about Jesus Sanchez!! Here is a guy getting better and better every time out. Saturday he tossed 7.1 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks, and keeping the pitch count down. The effort earned him his 6th win of the year, lowering his ERA to 3.79. Eryk McConnell got the last 2 outs in the 8th, and B.J. Rosenberg finished it off. While it was not a save opportunity for Rosenberg, he has now thrown 18.1 consecutive innings with out allowing an earned run.
