Pigs sweep!!

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs won both games of Saturday's doubleheader against Rochester. In the late game Carlos Carrasco (6-8) threw 5 shut out innings before giving up 3 runs on 2 home runs in the 6th, but still was the winning pitcher in the Pigs' 6-3 victory. Michael Taylor had a single, a walk, a 2-run homer and stole a base for Lehigh.

The Pigs had won the opener, 7-5, behind Gustavo Chacin (4-3). Chacin went 5.1, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, getting just enough done to get the win. Lou Marson had a single, a walk and scored a run for the IronPigs.

In Sacramento Saturday, Chris Roberson had 3 hits, including a double, raising his average to .310 for Reno, but the Aces lost to the River Cats, 5-2. In Las Vegas, Kevin Howard hit his 8th home run of the season, and Randy Ruiz (.327) had 3 more hits, driving in 2 more runs (that's 80 RBI) as the 51s beat Tacoma 6-5. In San Antonio, Adrian Cardenas (.353) had 2 more hits and scored a run, and teammate and former Clearwater Thresher Matt Spencer (.273)added 3 hits, including a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI, but the Missions still beat the Rock Hounds, 8-6.
