Savery starts, Worley wins!!
The Reading Phillies made a major impact in the eastern League All-Star game in Trenton Wednesday night. Joe Savery, 12-1 for the R-Phils, was honored with the starting assignment, and threw a scoreless 1st inning. Vance Worley, who came into the game with the scored tied at 3-3 and tossed a scoreless 7th frame, was awarded the victory when the South team scored the go-ahead run in the 8th inning. Michael Taylor, who walked and scored a run in the South's 3-run 3rd inning, singled in the final run in the 9th as the South took the contest, 5-3. Quintin Berry had a walk and a single in 2 plate appearances, and stole a base for good measure!! Neil Sellers struck out in his only 2 at bats.
