Hot Marson paces Pigs

Lou Marson had 3 more hits Tuesday night, including a double, scored twice and drove in 3 runs to pace the Lehigh Valley IronPigs to a 12-0 win over Pawtucket. Lou is now on a 9-game hitting streak, going 15 for 32 (.469) over the stretch. Drew Carpenter won his 8th game of the year, by tossing 7 sparkling innings, allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, picking up 9 strike outs. Drew now has a splendid 2.85 ERA. Sergio Escalona threw a scoreless 9th, throwing 10 of his 13 pitches for strikes.

Akron's Josh Tomlin shut out Reading on 3 hits over 7 innings, as the Aeros topped the Phillies, 4-0. Mike Stutes started for Reading and took the loss, giving up the 4 runs, only 1 of which was earned, on 5 hits over 6 innings. Tyson Brummett and Chance Chapman threw an inning of scoreless ball each.
