Bourn sparks Braves over Phils

In Philadelphia Saturday night, the Braves took another one from the Phillies, 6-3.  Michael Bourn (.310) had 3 hits and a walk,  scored 2 runs , and was credited with a stolen base, his 24th.  I also thought he should have gotten credit for stealing home, but the official scorer decided otherwise.  Carlos Ruiz (.348) was 1 for 4 and Jake Diekman recorded 5 outs, walking 1, and allowing 1 of 2 inherited runners to score.  The Phillies are now 12 games under .500 and 14 games behind Washington.

In Detroit, Quintin Berry (.293) was 1 for 4 with a sacrifice bunt for the Tigers in their exciting 8-7 win over the Royals......In Chicago, Gavin Floyd bounced back from an off outing last week to throw 7.2 shut out innings as the White Sox beat Toronto, 2-0.  Gavin allowed just 4 hits and 2 walks, striking out 3 to improve to 7-8 on the year.  He has been very good in 3 of his last 4 starts.  It was win #37 for HomeSiders in the majors this year........In Washington, Gio Gonzalez continues to shine for the Nationals, winning his 12th game of the year as the Nats topped Colorado, 4-1.
