Braves shock Nats with comeback win

A few of our boys were front and center last night, and we will start in the nation's capital where the Atlanta Braves came from behind 9-0 to take an 11-10, 11 inning win from the Nationals.  In the top of the 9th, with the Nats ahead  9-8, Michael Bourn (.305) belted a 2-run triple to give the Braves a 10-9 lead.  Wasington tied it in the bottom half, only to lose in the 11th.  Bourn also had a walk and stole his 26th base of the year.  The Braves now trail the Nationals by 2.5 games for the division lead.

In Detroit, the Tigers pull to within a half game of division leading Chicago with a 4-2 win behind Justin Verlander. Quintin Berry (.280) was hit by a pitch and scored a run, and ended the game with another fine diving play in left field.  Be sure and catch the video on mlb.com!

In Philadelphia, the Giants beat Vance Worley and the Phillies, 7-2.  Vance (5-6) was cruising through 5 innings before allowing the game winning rally; 5 runs in the 6th.  In all: 6 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks, with 9 Ks in 6 innings of work.  Ryan Howard hit his 2nd home run, a long shot to straight away center field, and Carlos Ruiz (.349) had a double in 4 at bats for the Phillies.

In Boston, the Blue Jays topped the Sox, 6-1.  Anthony Gose had 2 walks and scored a run for Toronto.
