Mets take rubber game from Phils

In New York Thursday night, the Mets rallied for 2 in the bottom of the 9th to steal a 6-5 win from the Phillies. Carlos Ruiz (.355) was 1 for 4, and Cole Hamels went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits and 1 walk, striking out 7, and leaving the game with a 5-4 lead.  Antonio Bastardo recorded his 16th hold with a perfect 8th inning, before Papelbon blew the game in the 9th.



In Detroit, Quintin Berry had a pinch hit walk, and then scored what proved to be the winning run, as the Tigers rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to take a 7-3 decision from the Twins.
