Cole sharp in win

In Denver Sunday, Cole Hamels won his 11th game of the year with 8 great innings against the Rockies, and the Phillies took the first series after the break with a 5-1 win over Colorado.  Hamels (11-4) allowed just 1 run on 6 hits and 1 walk, striking out 7.  Antonio Bastardo threw a 1-2-3 9th inning.  Carlos Ruiz (.353)had 2 more hits, a single and a double, scored a run and drove in his 50th, and Ryan Howard grounded into a double play as a pinch hitter.  Ryan is just 2 for 16 since returning to the Phillies.

The win for Hamels was #40 for the HomeSide this year.

In Atlanta, Michael Bourn (.311)  had an RBI double and scored a run during the Braves' 6-run 5th inning, as the Braves completed the sweep of New York with a 6-1 win.
