The Toronto Blue Jays have called up Anthony Gose and he made his major league debut in the Bronx last night! Anthony came into the game in the 7th inning, pinch hitting for Ben Francisco, and grounded out. His first major league hit was a bunt single in the top of the 9th inning! (That was very "Berry" of him!).
I want to wish Anthony the best of luck, as he is a HomeSide favorite. He becomes the 46th former BlueClaw to appear in the major leagues.
On the downside, the White Sox have placed Gavin Floyd on the 15-day DL with elbow tendinitis.
In Tampa, the Rays topped the Indians, 4-2. Lou Marson (.287) had a walk and scored a run for Cleveland.......In Cincinnati, the Reds shut out the Diamondbacks, 4-0. Mike Zagurski threw another scoreless frame for Arizona. Mike has allowed only 1 run in his last 8 appearances.
In Los Angeles, the Phillies rallied for 2 runs in the top of the 8th inning to take a 3-2 win from the Dodgers, their 4th win in a row. Kyle Kendrick was the winning pitcher, pitching 1.2 innings of shut out relief, and Antonio Bastardo struck out the only hitter he faced to notch his 17th hold of the year.
The win was the 3rd this year for Kendrick and #42 for the HomeSide this season.
