In Detroit on Sunday, the Tigers completed the sweep of the White Sox, winning their 5th in a row and 13th in the last 15 by the score of 6-4. Quintin Berry (.279) was 1 for 4, but the 1 was his 2nd major league home run, one of 4 hit by the Tigers on the afternoon. On Foxsports Detroit, the Tiger's announcers have been calling him "Thunderclap" Berry, based on the way he claps his hands so hard when things go good!
In Philadelphia, Jimmy Rollin's walk off single scored Carlos Ruiz, and made a winner of Kyle Kendrick, as the Phillies salvaged the final game of their series with the Giants with a 4-3, 12-inning win. Kendrick pitched the last 2.1 innings, allowing no runs, and recording his 4th win of the season, and his 2nd since moving to the bullpen. It was win #44 for the HomeSide in 2012. Antonio Bastardo struck out the side in the 9th inning, and has been pitching better lately.
In Phoenix, Mike Zagurski threw another scoreless frame for the Diamondbacks, as Arizona beat Houston, 8-2.
