Duff'y's 5 hits lead Claws to win


In Hagerstown Wednesday, Chris Duffy (.380) had 5 hits, including a double and his 10th home run, and scored 3 runs to lead the BlueClaws to a 10-3 win over the Suns.  Maikel Franco had 3 hits and 2 walks, Kelly Dugan (.293) had a pair of hits, including his 9th home run, and scored 3 runs, and Brian Pointer knocked in 3 runs in his first game back from Williamsport.  The BlueClaws trail the Suns and the Hickory Crawdads by 1 game for first place.



In Reading, Cody Asche had 3 hits, including 2 home runs and 4 RBI, and Jonathan Pettibone pitched 7 strong innings to lead Reading to a 6-1 win over Altoona.  "Bone" allowed just 1 run on 3 hits, NO walks, and struck out 6 to improve to 9-7, 3.30 on the year.

In Dunedin, Zack Collier (.298) had 3 hits, scored a run and drove in another, but the Threshers were outdone by Dunedin, 9-6.  Brody Colvin (4.2 IP, 6 runs, 5 hits, 5 walks) and Chris Kissock (1.1 IP, 3 runs, 3 hits) both continue to struggle, but Hector Neris threw 2 scoreless innings out of the pen, striking out 3 of the 6 hitters he faced.   At 19-13, Clearwater trails first place Tampa by half-game.



In Tacoma, Jesus Merchan (.391) hit a 3-run home run for Tucson, but the Padres lost 1 4-3 game to the Rainier's.  Jesus has 18 hits and 9 RBI in just 15 games for Tucson..............In Oklahoma City, the RedHawks beat Iowa, 10-8.  Adrian Cardenas (.332) had 2 hits and scored a run for the Cubs...........In Bakersfield, Travis Mattair (.261)  had 2 hits and an RBI (#59) to help the Blaze beat San Jose, 4-2.
