Hamels & Ruiz named NL stars

First thing this morning is to congratulate both Cole Hamels and Carlos Ruiz on their selections for the All-Star Game next week in Kansas City.  Michael Bourn is 1 of the 5 candidates that the fans can vote for, so go online and get Micheal into the game, also!!

Ruiz (.356) had 1 hit on Sunday, as the Marlins completed the sweep of the Phillies with a 5-2 win.  Antonio Bastardo allowed a walk and a 2-run home run by Hanley Ramirez in his inning.

ESPN is reporting that the Phillies will be listening to offers for both Cole Hamels and Shane Victorino.  Both are in the final stage of their current contract.

In Baltimore, the Indians beat the Orioles, 6-2.  Lou Marson (.286) was 1 for 3, with an RBI and even stole a base and  Jason Donald made his return to the majors with a double and 2 walks for the Tribe.

In St Pete, Quintin Berry (.296) had a walk and scored a run for the Tigers in their 5-3 win over the Rays.  The Tigers are now just 1 game under .500 and making a push in the AL Central.

In New York, the Yankees beat Gavin Floyd and the White Sox, 4-2.  Gavin (6-8) struggled with his control, walking 5 and allowing 4 runs on 8 hits in just 5.1 innings of work.
