Quintin Berry is having a great first month in the major leagues. After 3 3-hit games, he had a 5-hit game last Sunday, several good catches, and 9 for 9 in stealing bases, "Q" added a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th Thursday to give the Tigers a 2-1 win over the Cardinals in the rubber game of their series. He has had more big moments since his call up than many players ever have in a career.
In Philadelphia, Vance Worley was 1 out away from 7 shut out innings when he allowed a 2-run home run Colorado's Chris Nelson. In all, just 4 hits and 2 walks and the 2 runs which saddled him with the loss in a 4-1 Rockies win. Then, after Chad Qualls put 2 men on base in the 8th, Jacob Diekman stranded the 2 runners with very good work in the 8th. Jake then walked Todd Helton with 1 out in the 9th, before Mike Schwimer gave up the final blow, a 2-run shot by Wilin Rosario.
