Galvis disabled

In Detroit Tuesday, the Cleveland Indians kept up their winning ways against the Tigers with a 9-6 victory, the 5th in a row this year over Detroit.   Quintin Berry (.310) had a double, an RBI and scored a run for the Tigers......In Philadelphia, the Dodgers made it 3 in a row, defeating Kyle Kendrick and the Phillies, 7-6.  Kyle (2-5) had some control issues, walking 5 and allowing 5 runs on 4 hits in 5.2 innings of work.  Antonio Bastardo threw a scoreless inning, striking out the side, and Jacob Diekman allowed 2 walks and a hit, resulting in an UNearned run, while striking out both of his outs.  Freddy Galvis was removed from the game, and then placed on the 15-day DL, with a back strain.  Too bad for Freddy, who is having a good rookie year.  Carlos Ruiz (.358) was 1 for 3 and scored a run for the Phillies.........In Phoenix, the Diamondbacks got to Josh Outman for 5 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks in just 3 innings, and went on to a 6-1 win over the Rockies.

In Allentown, Tyler Cloyd threw 8 solid innings, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and 1 walk, striking out 7 in the IronPigs' 5-1 win over Gwinnett.  Cloyd improves to 5-1, 2.26, and also had a single, a double, a walk, an RBI and scored a run!!  Mike Spidale (.309) had 3 hits and an RBI for the Pigs.

In Reading, Jonathan Pettibone almost matched Cloyd's effort. "Bone" (5-5, 3.79) put in a strong 7-inning performance against Altoona, yielding just 2 runs on 7 hits, NO walks, and struck out 3 in Reading's 7-2 win.  Sebastian Valle smacked his 6th home run, and drove in 3 runs to help lead the attack.

In Erie, the Trenton Thunder beat the Sea Wolves and Zack Segovia, 7-4.  Zack (5-6) went 5 innings for Erie, and gave up 5 runs, 4 earned, on 9 hits and 2 walks, striking out 3.  That was bad, but what happened to Josh Zeid was worse.Josh came into the game last night in the top of the 7th inning, with Corpus Christi ahead, 1-0, and the bases loaded with nobody out Midland.  Josh hit a batter, walked in a run, and then allowed a grand slam home, and the Rock Hounds stole 6-3 win.  E-gads!!
