Worley, Floyd victorious

In Philadelphia Tuesday , Vance Worley pitched into the 7th inning, and Carlos Ruiz had his 2nd 3-hit game in a row as the Phillies beat the Pirates, 5-4.  Worley picked up his 4th win of the year, going 6 good innings before running into trouble in the 7th.  Ruiz (.361) was 3 for 4, including his 8th home run of the year, which proved to be the game winning hit.   Antonio Bastardo pitched a scoreless 8th inning, recording his 15th hold of the season.

In Minnesota, Gavin Floyd shut out the Twins on just 5 hits over 7 innings,  striking out 9 to beat the team that has given him the most trouble in his career.  Gavin improves to 6-7 for the season for the Sox.

The 2 wins give the HomeSide a total of 36 major league victories in 2012.

In Atlanta, Michael Bourn led off the 1st inning with his 7th home run for the Braves, and Atlanta went on to an 8-1 win over Arizona.  Bourn (.312) also had another hit, and scored 2 runs for the Braves, and Mike Zagurski struck out the only hitter he faced (McCann) for the Diamondbacks..........In Arlington, the Rangers got past the Tigers, 7-5.  Quintin Berry (.308) had an RBI-single and a walk for Detroit.
